Fischli & David Weiss
Swiss, born in 1952 & 1946 — 2012
Swiss artists Peter Fischli and David Weiss have been working together since 1979. They are a major tandem in contemporary art. With humour and detachment, they explore our relationship to the images around us and the assumptions they convey. They use many media such as video or foam trompe l'oeil sculpture to create a whimsical, poetic world.
Fischli and Weiss's works take an eccentric look at our society. Popular everyday aesthetics, such as that of the supermarket or pets, inhabit their world.
Peter Fischli and David Weiss’s works in the Pinault Collection were presented for the first time during the 2008 “Passage du Temps” (“Passage of Time”) show at the Tri Postal in Lille.
