Danish, born in 1975
Danh Vo approaches the world as an archivist. Combining personal history and collective memory, his installations probe the processes involved in building identities, legacies and cultural values.
From his departure from Vietnam for Denmark at the age of four to his sexual orientation, his personal and family experiences have been the main wellsprings of his artistic creation. He painstakingly collects photographs, memories, fragments, objects and testimonies of his personal life in order to create installations where every item acquires meaning, challenging our assumptions about identity and history.
Danh Vo graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and the Städelschule Frankfurt. Several international shows have focused on his work. Danh Vo, an artist whose works are in the Pinault Collection, also co-curated, with Caroline Bourgeois, the "Slip of the Tongue" show at the Punta della Dogana (2015-2016).
