Spanish, born in 1977

Daniel Steegmann Mangrané turns the exhibition space into an immersive ecosystem where life and tropicality fill his installations, inspired by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto's modernist design. Steegmann Mangrané leaves no stone unturned to bring the work and the viewer together in organic unity. He also works in drawing, sculpture, photography and video.

Fascinated by biology, botany and entomology, he puts nature at the heart of his art. That is why he lives near the Amazon forest, which nurtures his reflections on Amerindian beliefs, along with Brazilian anthropologist and philosopher Eduardo Viveiros de Castro's writings on “multinaturalist perspectivism”.

Daniel Steegmann Mangrané's work is being presented by the Pinault Collection for the first time at the “Untitled, 2020” show at the Punta della Dogana (2020).
