Lili
Reynaud-Dewar

French, born in 1975

Lili Reynaud-Dewar's performances, sculptures, videos and installations show the body (her own) in momentary pose sequences. Her deeply autobiographical oeuvre is closely linked with emblematic literary figures such as Arthur Rimbaud and Eileen Myles, and alternative or feminist cultural figures such as Josephine Baker and Guillaume Dustan.

For Lili Reynaud-Dewar, any relevant artistic production entails taking a personal risk. It is in this spirit that she pursues her artistic quest for identity—both introspectively and by questioning the situation of the oppressed—as well as her personal life, which is nomadic as she transforms the venues where she exhibits into temporary accommodations.

Lili Reynaud-Dewar's work was first presented by the Pinault Collection in the exhibition Dancing With Myself at the Museum Folkwang in Essen (2016).
