Trisha
Donnelly

American, born in 1974

Oscillating between action and object, Trisha Donnelly's iconoclastic, eclectic work is based on new media and the frenetic dissemination of images in consumerist logic. Through a multi-dimensional practice that includes performance, drawing, sculpture, photography, and sound or video installations, the artist sets out to disrupt the viewer’s visual and haptic perceptions and to draw them further into the experience of the work.

Not having a press release, a poster, or a title is one of her distinct but not dogmatic artistic choices, giving free rein to a whole variety of interpretations. This constant unknown in her work, with its occasional mystical accents and ethereal aesthetic, adorns it with a certain mystery, or even esotericism.

The multi-disciplinary work of Trisha Donnelly was shown for the first time at the "Luogo e Segni" (Place and Signs) show at the Punta della Dogana in Venice in 2019.
