Untitled
2016
Digital video, projection
9 sec. (loop)
In a very short sequence, Trisha Donnelly's Untitled continuously projects the evolving image of an abstract painting reproduced in black and white. Its effects of relief and matter are clearly enhanced by subtle variations of light, which with reiteration acquire a hypnotic dimension.
Donnelly's iconoclastic, eclectic work is based on new media and the dissemination and fragmentation of images in a form of over-consumption. Alongside her performances, drawings and sound installations, she seeks to disrupt visual and haptic perceptions through very short videos of forms, fluids or reproductions of works with flickering lights.
Untitled was presented for the first time by the Pinault Collection at the "Luogo e Segni" ("Place and Signs") exhibition at the Punta della Dogana in Venice in 2019.
