Three slanting lines with metallic highlights streak in different directions across a monumental canvas with a brown background.
Lozano sections real forms — punches that are supposed to evoke an omnipotent, threatening male presence — and enlarges them to abstraction to create a pure, minimalist, conceptual painting. Colour predominates, made slightly reflective by metallic oxides. The wide strokes of the house painter’s brush, deliberately left visible, increase the motif’s corporality.
Now in the Pinault Collection, this work was exhibited for the first time at the Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana during the group show "Mapping the Studio" (2009-2011).
