Curated by
Caroline Bourgeois

Curator Caroline Bourgeois saw the show, which reflected various strands in contemporary art, as a mirror of François Pinault's bold, offbeat, eclectic approach. Dan Flavin, Agnes Martin or Lee Ufan’s metaphysical minimalism contrasted with other, more provocative pieces, such as Paul McCarthy’s or Maurizio Cattelan's scathing work, was the show’s high point. It aimed to survey the collection’s historical roots and contemporary dimension in four themes: "The Concept and the Work"; "Rereading History"; "Popular Culture and Mythology", highlighting Martial Raysse; and "From Consumer Society to the Search for Utopias".

For the first time, the Pinault Collection was exhibited in Brittany, where François Pinault grew up, at the invitation of the city of Dinard. Beyond expressing his close ties to this region, the event underscored his commitment to contemporary art. Travelling exhibitions shared his passion with as many people as possible.
