A selection of works from the Pinault Collection was presented in the Chapel; all were referring to the question of the representation of the sacred and, often, raising the question of the reinterpretation, by today's artists, of the iconic masterpieces that have marked the history of religious art. This exceptional exhibition, entitled "Echoes", brought together works by Adel Abdessemed, Maurizio Cattelan, Marlene Dumas, Y.Z. Kami, Andres Serrano and Hiroshi Sugimoto. In addition, an unprecedented selection of haute couture dresses created by Cristóbal Balenciaga was presented in the new spaces of Maison Balenciaga.
From the outset, the choice of Kering’s and Balenciaga’s new headquarters should reflect the group’s identity and its values. By opening the doors of this architectural gem, and by presenting these temporary exhibitions, the aim is to respond to its twofold vocation: heritage and creation.
