In this installation, Anne Imhof explores the themes of presence and absence, materiality and ephemerality. The leather jacket, a common object, a marker of identity and rebellion, is suspended here, evoking a latent human presence. The refined sugar, a perishable and fragile material, contrasts with the robustness of the leather, suggesting the duality between permanence and dissolution. 

Trabende Trabanten Wir werden wie ihr sein Vergraben in eure Mahnen aus Kupfer und Gold engages with a post-apocalyptic aesthetic, where everyday objects are imbued with emotional and narrative potential, evoking a youth in search of bearings in a world in transition. The artwork can be seen as an hourglass, time has passed and we are faced with the impossibility of turning it back to start again.
