Teatrino

Aili's works poignantly depict man's loneliness in the face of a world that is beyond him, a world where the dizzying pace of technological upheavals erases one landmark after another. He uses his mastery of the canons of Western art to invite the audience into a singular universe where the fragility of the human condition is violently felt.
From this point of view, the Teatrino's hanging offered a very subtle selection of Jia Aili's works. The harmonious dialogue between his paintings and the pure architecture of Tadao Ando's work was a beautiful tribute to an artist who never ceases to surpass himself and who still has so much to tell.
