In Francesco Lo Savio’s emblematic Filtri, or “Filters”, the centre illuminates the rectangular canvas with a subtle emanation of chromatic variations. Lo Savio’s radical approach offers a pictorial space within the canvas in which abstraction fuses with spirituality, light becomes the protagonist, and vibration plays a key role. The artist himself describes his works as monochrome. He says that they are “visions of luminous spectres in space” that seek to express the energy of pure forms through the use of light.

The Pinault Collection showed this work for the first at the Icones exhibition at Punta della Dogana in Venice in 2023
