Intériorisme
Video installation

Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster's work Interiorism is based on a simple process: a rectangular cut-out presents panoramic still images of cityscapes. The artist creates immersive installations conducive to awakening the senses and daydreaming that she calls “environments”. Here, she invites us to subjectively meditate on the memory of places and cities.
Gonzalez-Foerster is interested in building scenarios in space and evoking suggestive moods. Her work draws on literature, film, dreams and travel. Her works and shows prompt the viewer to “tell their own story in response to what they have just seen, with their own references”, in other words to interact as equals with the works.
Interiorism was presented for the first time by the Pinault Collection during the 2007 “Passage du Temps” (“Passage of Time”) show at the Tri Postal in Lille.
