Three monochrome paintings have the same size and layout. Their grey surface is covered with a translucent, fixed membrane that, through contrasting effects of volume and light reflection, makes each one unique.

Edith Dekyndt's work is about space in all its dimensions - sound, light, temperature - revealing what is normally imperceptible because it is ephemeral. The painting then becomes a place for a process of seizure, capturing these changes. The triptych retains only an apparent, transparent memory of the monochrome paint, like frozen organic membranes.

Made during the Pinault Collection's second artist’s residency in Lens, Winter Drums 06 B (Triptyc) has since joined its collections. It was presented at the 2019 show "Luogo e Segni" ("Place and Signs") at the Punta della Dogana in Venice.
