Video installation
Variable durations
Twelve screens hanging from the ceiling show stories about roles and habits in Western society. This installation by Rosemarie Trockel is in line with her challenging works plunging viewers into an ironic world.
The screens are so high that they must strain their necks to see them. Trockel demands concentration from the viewer. The videos respond to and echo each other around the room. The sounds merge with each other, blurring our auditory perception.
Untitled, Rosemarie Trockel's installation was presented for the first time by the Pinault Collection during the exhibition “Passage du temps” (‘Passage of Time”) in Lille at the Tri Postal in 2008.
