Begun in 2013, Tatiana Trouvé’s series Les Dessouvenus - a Breton expression for people who have lost their memory - explores memory and its limits through drawing.
The artist developed an original operating method for this work. She dipped sheets of paper into a bleach bath, altering their colour and causing stains to appear that are the series’ point of departure. Burns, halos, clouds or explosions, depending on the viewer's interpretation, punctuate this silent mental landscape. Mixing random chemical effects, drawing and collage, the works create poetic spaces that encourage the viewer to meditate.
Trouvé offered a special installation, like a forest, of several drawings from the series Les Dessouvenus at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rennes in 2018 in parallel with the exhibition "Debout !" ("Stand Up!") show at the Couvent des the Jacobins.
