Left leg: 14.5 x 28 x 55 cm (5 11/16 x 11 x 21 5/8 in.) Right leg: 15 x 28 x 57 cm (5 7/8 x 11 x 22 7/16 in.)

Cast in concrete, two child’s legs wearing trainers and roller skates, are cut off mid-calf and laid on the ground.

With KOMT (2007), Sislej Xhafa makes reference to the immobilised generation of young people in Kosovo. Faced with extreme poverty due to the very strict communist regime, the majority left Kosovo in the 90s, heading west. The artist illustrates the failure of this exodus towards a better life through his work KOMT. These limbs, charred and weighed down by the material from which they are made, are laid on the ground, stopped in their tracks.

The work KOMT, part of the Pinault Collection, was presented at the Palazzo Grassi at the "Le Monde vous appartient" (“The World Belongs to You”) exhibition (2011-12).
