Lutz Bacher is an American artist who has worked under a male pseudonym since the start of her career. Her conceptual work combines different media: photography, sculptural arrangement, video, sound and installation.

Lutz Bacher draws her inspiration from the collective imagination. In her work, she uses everyday objects and images, the sources are multiple and diverse. The artist thus appropriates popular culture and, sometimes, by referring to the history of art. The key issues that she develops in her artistic practice are the human body, sexuality, violence and power, as well as the narrow border between the private and public spheres.

It was during the Nuit Blanche in 2017 that the Pinault Collection made the public discover the work PLEASE (LC) by Lutz Bacher, alongside the video Uomoduomo by Anri Sala, in the Saint-Eustache Church.
