Screenprint and collage on Hodgkinson mould-made paper*. *Screenprint in colour with silver foil collage, from one photographic and 17 hand-cut stencils, with full margins. The underlying layers of colour are mostly flats printed from 16 hand cut screens (after Hamilton's drawings). The 17th and last screen carried the image in a black halftone dot. Only the handcuffs were collaged.

It was in England, rather than the USA, that Pop Art was born. Richard Hamilton was one of the trailblazers of this new movement, his collages drawing inspiration from pictures in magazines, advertising and the press.
