This work, entitled 30 octobre 1966 (30 October 1966), belongs to the early production of Michel Parmentier, who, in late 1965 began systematising a pictorial exploration that tended to objectivity. He then painted coloured bands separated by a 38 cm interval, which changed from one year to the next only in colour. For three years he devoted himself to these paintings, then resumed this work in 1983.
One of the first manifestations of the systematic artistic process of Michel Parmentier, the painting 30 octobre 1966 was first shown by the Pinault Collection at the 2016 “Accrochage” ("Hanging") exhibition at the Punta della Dogana.
