Bureau augmenté

Michel François has been building his installation Bureau augmenté (Augmented Office) for nearly 10 years. The cumulative process of combining objects, materials and video leans towards confusion. The combination of media reflects a deconstructed, sensual aesthetic.

Bureau augmenté exposes the reality of the office. It suspends our gaze to give us a fresh view of a familiar place. François allows us to re-appropriate gestures and objects that we no longer see in our daily lives. This lively, familiar, somewhat absurd depiction of an office questions the meaning of work.

The Pinault Collection presented Michel François' installation Bureau augmenté at the Tri Postal in Lille during the 2008 exhibition “Passage du temps” (“Passage of Time”).
