Dog skeleton and Libération newspaper

40 × 80 × 50 cm

Author of a series of animal sculptures in which bodies are replaced by skeletons, Maurizio Cattelan combines a comical image, borrowed from fiction with a funerary dimension. The comical aspect of the situation—a dog imagined to be bringing the newspaper to its owner—reveals the duality between humor and death that runs through the Italian artist's work.
