Ombre sul giallo
2013-2014
Oil on canvas mounted on wood
27 × 19 cm
Victor Man's paintings appeal to the subconscious and the ollective memory. This small painting may suggest both eligious frescoes from the Renaissance and image of a ecent war or even an ethnographic archive. Its title, however, Iludes to the name of an Italian TV series that investigates rimes where doubts remain about the guilt of the accused. It its core, the artist captures a dramatic act, namely a last ciss, which he executes with masterful skill thanks to i spectacularly foreshortened perspective.
