La Passerelle

Viewers find themselves suspended between two faces whose gazes evade each other, seek one another and eventually meet, revealing two characters immersed in seduction. The scenes, projected on either side of a long corridor, appear linked and distant : one is taken from the film Prima della rivoluzione by Bernardo Bertolucci (1964), and the other from Amants réguliers by Philippe Garrel (2005), film referencing that of Bertolucci. Two eras and two distinct directors combine to conjure up twe stories of love and youthful ideals set against the backdrop of the social movements of the 1960s. In this way, the artist creates a bridge between these universes, pulling us into a temporal and affective dissonance.
