Of Guadeloupean origin, Pol Taburet was born in 1997 in Paris, France. After graduating from the École nationale supérieure d’art de Paris-Cergy, the artist began to develop in his works a mythology that is both personal and collective, free from any temporal reference. Taburet draws inspiration from ancient insular cults, Caribbean beliefs as well as contemporary culture. The artist populates his canvases with frank flat tints with strange characters, planted in settings with indeterminate perspectives.
