Kenneth Armitage

Irving Penn (1917-2009), one of the undisputed masters of twentieth-century photography, is known for his iconic images of haute couture and still life, but also, and above all, for his magnificent portraits of the artists, writers and celebrities who marked the cultural landscape of their time.

Kenneth Armitage (1916-2002) was a British sculptor whose mainly bronze works depict the human figure in motion. Designated as worthy successors to Henry Moore, Butler, Armitage, and Lynn Chadwick met with great success in 1950s and 1960s Europe. Kenneth Armitage’s works form part of the greatest museum collections, such as the Tate and the Centre Pompidou.
